Daniel Křetínský to control assets worth almost CZK 300bn

Daniel Křetínský (37) has secured a new triumph in its rampant acquisition crusade. The Slovak government will allow his Energetický a průmyslový holding (Energy and Industrial Holding) to purchase a 49% interest in Slovenský plynárenský priemysl (Slovak Gas Industry) from GDF Suez and E.ON, and to get control over the company’s management. This around CZK 60bn transaction will blow the Czech holding’s assets up to enormous proportions.
When the deal is completed, Křetínský will control/manage assets worth more than €11bn. According to the latest available figures, Slovenský plynárenský priemysl’s consolidated balance amounts to €8.3bn, Energetický a průmyslový holding’s to €2.5bn, and to around €300m for EP Industries.
